Since the 1820s only one southern right whale birth has been recorded on August 2010 in timtumili minanya/River Derwent near Taroona the territory of the mouhenneener people. At the time, 5 months pregnant with my daughter Pearl I experienced an eruption of sensitivity at how the world unfolds and remade every moment in every day and hope transpired that timtumili minanya can again be a whale nursery. Reflecting upon this I utter an incantation to the sea for the splendid southern right whales to return to the womb of the world for their birthing to bless us with their dazzling set of forces I conducted a ritual standing on a floating platform in timtumili minanya. Today, the southern right whale is among the rarest of whales, but since the end of commercial whaling its numbers have begun to increase, sightings in the realm are growing.
